Lavrov: by abandoning the Nord Stream - 2 Germany would dishonor itself


If Germany does not retreat from the intention to complete the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, it will retain its weight, its benefit and its honor, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters on September 24. The Russian diplomat drew attention to Washington's regular attempts to humiliate the European Union, primarily Germany. For example, Lavrov noted, Berlin is required to abandon Nord Stream 2 for the sake of American liquefied gas. I believe this is my personal opinion, this issue (implementation of Nord Stream 2 approx. News Agency) is now a matter of honor of Germany, honor in every sense, in all its dimensions. Lavrov recall that talk about the possibility of freezing Nord Stream 2, nearing completion, was heard from German authorities immediately after information appeared about the alleged poisoning of blogger Alexei Navalny, allegedly carried out with the participation of Russian special services.
