71% of Poles support scandalous amendments to the law on animal protection

The sociological service United Surveys conducted a survey of Poles: how they relate to innovations in the law on animal protection, which caused wide discussions in elites and society. This was reported by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. According to the results of the study, 71% of respondents supported the amendments. This position was most popular among residents of large cities (more than 500 thousand people) 78%. However, in rural areas, a majority (61%) spoke in favor of the new rules. Only 20.5% of respondents opposed the amendments, while 8.5% could not give an unambiguous answer. Most opponents of innovations were among rural residents (31%), as well as among residents of small towns (25%). Recall that the new rules for the protection of animals consolidate, among other things, the improvement of the procedure for the operation of animal shelters, as well as the restriction of the possibility of keeping animals on attachment. But the greatest discussions in the elite and society are caused by norms prohibiting the breeding of animals on fur. So, according to the Minister of Agriculture of Poland, the new rules will extremely negatively affect the income of farmers.
