NCFI freight container index in China up 4.2%

China's Ningbo Container Transportation Index (NCFI), the fluger of the country's busiest cargo port on the container freight market, was 720 points, Xinhua news agency reported on May 29. This indicator was 4.2% higher than a week earlier. The NCFI index is published weekly by the Ningbo Transport Exchange, located in the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province in eastern China. The index calculates and records container freight rates on 21 routes leaving the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan, including the composite index and 21 subindects on individual routes. The index was first published in 2013 and has since been published every Friday with the exception of Chinese holidays.
